Under beautiful skies this past weekend the St. Andrew Greek Orthodox festival took place on the church grounds. We the vendors were inside an air conditioned large auditorium and let the day begin. The last two blogs were about preparing for the first two Greek festivals of the season. Two weeks ago was I was in Elmhurst and last week in Palatine. What did I learn? Or more importantly what did the church learn? Both churches know how to prepare for festivals and use their property efficiently to handle large crowds of people and unsavory weather. Last week was the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox church festival at the church located in Elmhurst, Illinois and this weekend is the St. Nectarios Greek festival located in Palatine, Illinois located at 133 S. Roselle Road. This church too was included in the ECCLESIA, Greek Orthodox Churches of the Chicago Metropolis book that was written by myself.
