Last week was the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox church festival at the church located in Elmhurst, Illinois and this weekend is the St. Nectarios Greek festival located in Palatine, Illinois located at 133 S. Roselle Road. This church too was included in the ECCLESIA, Greek Orthodox Churches of the Chicago Metropolis book that was written by myself. Coming back to this always brings back memories for me of when I was living in the suburb before I got married. It may seem that I spend most of my time speaking to Universal laser folks although they were my favorite there were others that excited me too. The next day there was a class Friday morning at 9 am with Rowmark Plastic. Just started using their product to produce smaller signs and the results are fantastic. It's a primitive use of their product but, many, many possibilities if it's used as it was designed. Their plastic comes in so many varieties of color, texture, and thickness. It's durable and tough. Just got back yesterday from the NBM (National Business Media) show in Indianapolis. And what a show it was...for me. I don't usually attend every year and after the last couple of days maybe that will change.  It's an exhibition show along with classes. The show covers three areas: awards and engraving, sign and graphics, and print wear.  I’m only interested in what the laser can do and it's probably the most versatile tool. The drive to Indy from Chicago was uneventful and took about three hours to drive 183 miles. Got there well in advance to make my first class...

Designing products is fun. What's not fun is when you get stuck when you see the solution in your mind but can't get it on paper. This particular case is just that. This isn't case of just adding a line here or there...well it is. These lines are elliptical. Altering one is altering all of them. A few years back at a Greek festival we were given the most tables ever...six! Unheard of. Eight footers! Plenty of space. With the extra space unwanted signs that I thought no one would want and might be possibly sold for less were receiving...
