Such an honor! This morning I read that on May 22, 2012, the highest ranking Turkish Foreign Minister, Ahmet Davutoglu and his wife visited the Metropolitan Iakovos here in Chicago. My book or album, ECCLESIA, Greek Orthodox Churches of the Chicago Metropolis, was given as a gift to the Minister. It's such an honor my book was given to such a man. An old passion rekindled. It just happened. I wasn't planning on it and that's what it makes so special this time. I've embraced photography and using it again. Upon the completion of my book, ECCLESIA, Greek Orthodox Churches of the Chicago Metropolis, my photography reached a crossroad. It's that time again here in the Chicago land area where the temperatures have finally warmed up and everyone is feeling happy again. In a few short weeks it will be Greek festival season. With the many Greek churches in the area it's often difficult to decide which festival to attend. Some festivals are better than others, some have better food and some have more attractions. Greeks now best. Did you know most of America is based on the Greek language anyway? Our early Fathers of this country with such figures as Madison and Washington knew how to read Greek and read history of our Greek ancestors. Apparently they realized what a fantastic culture Hellenism was and applied many of its lessons to the American model. Hellenism has contributed more to the American landscape then is known.
